Today was the first session in the House of Commons of 2012. During QP 3 Conservative MPs subbmitted anti-CBC petitions. The three MPs were:
Brian Jean (Fort-McMurray – Athabasca.)
Cheryl Gallant (Renfrew – Nipissing – Pembroke.)
The CBC needs defending. As Liberals we can’t just take this nation’s support for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation as a given. We need to publicly defend the CBC and make sure Canadians know why it is an important institution. It is tempting to dismiss these petitions because they are non-binding. We should all remember how Harper chose to go after the gun-registry. He had Candice Hoeppner, a former financial planner who had no experience with law enforcement, introduce a private members bill so he could kill the registry away from the public eye. If you are a constituent of any of these three MPs, please write them a letter or call them as soon as possible.

The CBC is the only unbiased news broadcaster left and we MUST not let a few political hacks dictate whether it is to continue.
We need to be adamant. We also need to point out that Sun News is an illegal “news” organization. Perhaps a threat of any non-conservative government saying that they will make Sun News illegal if the conservatives dare touch the CBC.
My other thought was that Harper will slightly cut, but not destroy the CBC. He can keep his base angry while knowing that if he actually got rid of teh CBC that it could mean his own defeat.
I strongly object to the strong-arm tactics the Govt. is using to get rid of the CBC. Now, while the Focus is on the attempt to deny pensions to our seniors, we need the CBC and all unbiased media to expose this . This is a critical time in our great country and we are being diserved by these guys whose pensions most would dearly love to have. Long live the CBC. Jim Hickey
when he got elected.People of Canada,
The Harper government is wearing us out.
We are overworked having to write so many letters and organizing meetings to protest all their folly.
I can see why you want the CBC defended. Who else would put out a online poll if you agreed to the Shafia verdict.
